Period 7: Magical Movie Moments

Movies, like books, can sometimes affect people in many ways.  The above clip is the ending of Dead Poets Society; one of my absolute favorite movies.  This is a powerful scene in the movie when the meek, scared Todd Anderson finally finds his voice.  He finds the strength to stand up for what he believes in.  Everytime I see this scene (even when just watching the clip) I tear up.  I am so moved by the fact that Todd, of all people, would stand up and honor his teacher by defying the headmaster.  I think that he is so brave and fantastic.  Just thinking about it gives me the chills.

Think of some movies that have affected you in some way.  What is one powerful movie moment?  Why is it so powerful?  How does it affect you when you see it?  Why?
